Jet Skiing Tour

We were a bit aprehensive about the jet ski tour but booked it anyways. We were so glad we did.. It was so much fun!
We rode 2-person sit down jet-ski's. Everyone followed in a line (there were about 15 jetski's on the tour). We went through mangroves and saw tropical birds, etc. Once we navigated out of the mangroves, we got out to the open ocean. (well almost!). We rode for a bit longer and "parked" our jetskis. The tour guide roped us all together and handed out snorkel gear. We were allowed to snorkel around for about 1/2 hour. We saw some beautiful fish and coral. When you snorkel in Cancun (or anywhere there are coral reefs) be careful not to step on or touch the coral reef.. it's a living organism that takes hundreds of years to grow.
After our snorkeling, we got back up on our jetskis (not that easy to do!) and rode back. It was a really fun trip, and the snorkeling was great.
This trip was in 1992, and it cost about $20. On my second trip to cancun 6 years later, many of jetski tours were replaced by mini speed boat tours. You can still find the jetski tours though..they're just less common. I actually did the mini speed boat tour as well, and it was equally fun.
