Diving Nusa Penida

Nusa Penidfa is the large islan off the Se east coast of Bali. It can be reached by boat and the case of BIDP their 400hp boat will set off from a beach near Sanur. The main attraction of diving at Nusa Penida is the possibility of seeing mola mola (sun fish). These large dustbin lid shaped fish swim on their sides and their distinctive markings and orange colour make them dificult to miss if they in the vicinity. The problem is sun fish like cold water which usuallt means they remain at depths beyond the average SCUBA diver. The upwellings of the southern sea canm bring cool water up fairly quickly though so a sighting is not out of the question. The bonus is the diving here is really good anyway. Water temperature at the surface was 28 C with pronounced thermocline at 10-15m. The dive masters with BIDP all use computers so the depths and duration of dives is safely calculated. BIDP! They're in BALI. Some are European, therefore INTERNATIONAL. They're DIVING all the time. They're PROFESSIONAL in their approach to everything. I'd recommend them to anyone
