Suffering 2 weeks in Cancun...

A December 2002 trip to Cancun by Picottes

Quote: We suffered 2 weeks of all-inclusive life at the Palace Resorts in Cancun Mexico...how could we bear it?
Quote: This was absolutely the best vacation I've had in Cancun. I felt completely spoiled and pampered with the All-Inclusive services.

What more could anyone want - - all the excellent food and drinks you could want, two free tours per person per week, a free manicure, pedicure and massage per person per week. A large jacuzzi in your room with ocean view. The tours and staff were excellent.

The best things to do there besides kicking back and relaxing at the wonderful pools and beach... Xel HA, Isla Mujeres, Xcaret, golfing, scuba and snorkeling.

There are several good ruins tours...I would recommend the night and day trip to Chichenitza, Tulum was by the water and very beautiful, Coba was cool in that you could see several of the ruins that still had not been uncovered.

Meeting people from other states/countries is always a big highlight...we made friends with people from Hungary and plan to take a trip there to see them in the future.

Quick Tips:

I think everyone's first trip to Cancun needs to be at least a two week vacation. There's just too much to do for one week...plus it takes a couple days to adjust to being in Mexico.

It's best to try to plan a day between the all day tours as they can be very exhausting. At the Palace Resorts, look into the tours that are offered before you get there so that you can book your all-inclusive tours, massages, manicures and pedicures as soon as you get there or it may be difficult to book them days later as they fill up fast. We missed getting our tours the 1st week because we hesitated to book the first day of arrival.

Best Way To Get Around:

At the Moon Palace, they have transportation to Cancun shopping plazas and to the other Palace resorts which was excellent! We used the Palace Resorts transportation everyday.

While in Cancun, we also used the public bus system as it is cheap and sufficient for getting around in Cancun...only 6 pesos per ride. The only cab we used this trip was when going back to the airport.

Quote: Best Things Nearby:
The beach, ocean (not as beautiful as the beach/ocean at the Cancun strip Palace Resorts), the golf course and constant activities that are available, the huge selection of restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
The All-Inclusive---where everything is truly all inclusive! The resort was excellent!

Resort Experience:
This resort should be able to please almost every person. It caters to everyone...if you want to party, to relax, to get exercise, to take tours, to be totally pampered...they have it all there for you.

We had only two complaints.

1)they fell short on making sure they had enough balls for the miniature golf course so we had a huge line of people waiting for others to return... and there were only 5 people golfing at the time.

2)Our room was close to the basketball courts...to walk to the lobby area we had to walk through an area that was the septic area evidently...it was horrible.

That is the only area in the whole timeshare that seemed to have this problem...so ask for a room away from the Moon Palace basketball courts. Otherwise, this place was heaven for me...I came home so relaxed and pampered. We will be going back next year.

Quote: This is my favorite restaurants in Cancun. We go here every time we come to Cancun. They have wonderful Caribbean seafood, classic Mexican and American cuisine. It is very romantic at night. The food is fabulous and the service is excellent.

Restaurant

Quote: This was my family's favorite place for dinner out of the Palace Resorts restaurants. The food and service and atmosphere were excellent. Since Palace Resorts are all-inclusive, it is already included in the all-inclusive costs. We did leave tips for excellent service, although tips are supposed to be included in the all-inclusive rate, as well.
