The Misty Isle of Skye is just the place for a relaxing break away from the fast pace of life. I found the White Heather Hotel at Kyleakin, just over the Skye Bridge . . .

I am delighted to have the opportunity to write a review of the White Heather Hotel. I first met Craig and Gillian last summer and was at once struck by the sincerity and friendliness of their welcome. The hotel is spotlessly clean and comfortable and is truly a ‘home away from home’, except that the view from home cannot compare! The hotel is ideally situated along the pier, with spectacular views over the tiny harbour and towards the Kintail mountains. Staying at the White Heather is certainly worth the nine-hour drive from Yorkshire to get there. So impressed was I by the hotel, its location, and its proprietors that I had to return later in the year and have visited again this summer. Craig and Gillian work together to provide the Skye-bound traveller with everything he or she needs: a hearty breakfast, tourist information and advice on planning an excellent day out, recommendations of local restaurants, and a relaxing atmosphere to return to. There are lots of places to go to if you want a packed holiday at breakneck speed – in my experience, Skye is not one of these. Thankfully, there are still spectacular, quiet places to enjoy, unwind, and re-charge, and this is why I don’t hesitate to recommend the White Heather.
