One of the easiest ways to see all that Amsterdam has to offer is through one of its many tours. Holland International Canal Cruises is a popular and original option, visiting all the major sites of the ancient city center via its myriad waterways. History buffs can't miss the Amsterdam in World War II Walking Tour, where they'll learn about the city's suffering under the Nazi occupation while visiting salient sites like the small but stirring Anne Frank Huis.
Art-lovers can't miss a visit to Amsterdam's legendary Rijksmuseum, home to an impressive collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. The nearby Van Gogh Museum is a smaller but no less popular option, housing the world's largest collection of Van Gogh, in addition to works by his post-Impressionist contemporaries.
No trip to Amsterdam is complete without sampling some of its legendary beer. The 17 beers on tap (and 200+ in bottles) at the In de Wildeman beer hall are a great place to start. After that, take a trip over to the Heineken Brewery, where tour admission buys you unlimited trips to the brewery bar.
