The Brooklyn Brewery is one of Brooklyn’s greatest attractions since it is completely Brooklyn. If you take Bedford Avenue down towards McCarren Park, hang yourself a left on North 11th Street and you will be privileged enough to see the greatest small brewery in all of New York; and the only. The brewery is located in the old warehouse section of Williamsburg and is an area that has attracted the creative youth of New York for its open spaces, luscious parks and its amazing beer. Every bar has their Brooklyn Lager signs flickering high and bright for all to see all through out the neighborhood.
A great way to experience this brew house is by coming by on a Friday evening, when they have different tastings from 6pm to 9pm and then come back again on Saturday for the tour. On Saturdays, if you get here early enough (between 12am and 4pm) you can catch one of the four free tours through the brewery and explore the greatness that is Brooklyn Lager. While on the tour, you are given the history of the Brooklyn Brewery and the lager that it has created, then go through the Malt House and the Brew House and finish up in the gift shop. It is here that you can buy all of those drunken trinkets that one ever needs, but you have to get while you are in the moment.
And, after the tour, you are transported back into the ambience that Williamsburg has to offer and all of the Brooklyn Lager that all of the bars have to offer. So, pack up your drinking liver and prepare for a day of lager soaked goodness. It is a great time. Enjoy!
