Take the $5 ferry - runs every half hour across the bay - ferry docks north of Orient Beach. Calm water, chairs and umbrellas for rent - beach bar with grass shacks.

Bring own equipment (provided on cruise trips). Walk down path on left side to end. Walk or swim to left of point. GREAT SNORKELING along edge of roped-off reef.

ONLY place on St. Martin with good shore snorkeling.

Pinell Island is a tiny island accessible by a boat from the French side of St. Martin near Orient Beach. The boat costs a few dollars each way and leaves about every 10 minutes. The island has facilities, a snack bar, chairs, and umbrellas you can rent. It is a great place to snorkel or just sunbathe away from the crowd.
