Description

Since 1970, visitors have packed this exotic dinner club to eat fondue, listen to jazz and have the opportunity to view live alligators. The club is divided into 13 staggered levels, designed to resemble an old sailing vessel. Fondues are served in many varieties, including mixed meat and cheese trays, vegetable platters and, of course, chocolate. The restaurant's 300 wines range from $16 to more than $800.

From journal Atlanta - small city/southern charm

Dante's is a fondue paradise with a nautical theme. As you walk up the plank to the restaurant you'll cross a moat where live aligators swim about. The restaurant interior looks like a large wharf with a huge ship docked to it surrounded by 'shops'. A jazz band plays inside the 2 story ship who's cabin is filled with tables. The ambiance alone is enough to drive you here but the food is also wonderful. They have a great cheese fondue as a starter and then a combination of vegetable, shrimp, chicken, beef tenderloin and more. When the meal arrives it doesn't look like it would fill you. I assure you, it will! Dinner is delightful, as you cook your food and enjoy conversation the ambiance and the music. The wine list is extensive with over 100 bottles to choose from. Complete the evening with a heavenly and romantic chocolate fondue. Dinner here is not a quick experience. Plan on a couple hours to make the most of your evening.
