I took my father, aunt, and uncle to this Korean place. We ordered bibimnengmyun, which is a spicy noodle dish; kalbi, which is Korean BBQ beef short ribs; a fish dish; and meundaejigogigui, which is spicy BBQ pork. I had previously raved about this place's noodle dishes, but I had not sampled a full fare. After tasting the variety, my family concluded that only the noodle dish was excellent. I found the BBQ pork not so good. My mother can do much better, and so can many other Korean restaurants. The fish was very bland. My aunt said that my mother's fish seasoning is superior to the dish we sampled at the restaurant. The kalbi was very good. It was just as good as many other places I have been to in Koreatown (LA), but it was extremely expensive for the amount we received. My family was not pleased that we received the same amount of banchan (side dishes) here. My uncle ordered a noodle dish just for himself. I found it a bit spicy, but my uncle found it fine. Typically, he would have added more red pepper sauce (gochujang), but he's trying to tone down the amount of spice he consumes.

If you go, order only the noodle dishes. They are excellent! If you want to spend a lot on kalbi, that's fine too. Dinner was very expensive; we definitely went over $100 on this outing. Next time I'm going to try out the Korean restaurants in the Chinatown area of Vegas.

We ordered mool nengmyun (noodles in water), which was perfect for the hot Vegas weather. For appetizers, we had mandoo (fried wonton) and jahpchae (noodle dish). We also ordered dolsot bibimbahp, which is just rice with mixed vegetables in a hot sauce, and bulgogi. Their bulgogi was my favorite since they serve it with green onions in a sweet and spicy sauce that you eat together with the meat.

The service was excellent, but then I was ordering in Korean. I'm not sure what would have happened if I only used English. The meal for the three of us came out to about $60. My friends were so impressed and they left with the card to remember the address.

This place serves authentic Korean food, and it was quite tasty. (I should know, I'm Korean!) They have a couple of branches; the other one is at 2975 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109, 702/735-2050. If you like Korean food, you should go. Service was better at the southern branch (3765 S. Las Vegas Bl.), rather than the one that is near the Harley Davidson Hotel (2975 S. Las Vegas Blvd.). Try the Mul Nengmyun (good for anyone) or the fiery Bibim Nengmyun (only for those who can take EXTRA SPICY!).
