We ate the breakfast buffet here twice. The first time was a part of their timeshare sales presentation, and we liked it well enough to come again. They offered fresh fruit, bakery, made to order omelets and eggs, waffles, pancakes, Mexican entrees, a juice bar and cold cereals. It was a nice selection and priced at about $15.

Forget going to the resort restaurants, go out of the resorts area and you will find plenty of good places to eat for pesos. Ok, so you might need to have a strong stomach as some down home cooking "their way" can be heated up... fire roasted tonsils is a rare thing and even rarer would be to see health inspectors - they don't have. Remember most items have lime/lemon and salt. Everything comes with salsa, even a side dish of ice cream.....And again as the tourist books say not recommended, or be safe stay in resort...... gee now that's just real adventurist.

We had several meals at the resort at different restaurants there. The food was always prepared nicely, although we usually found it a little expensive. There is quite a lot of choice, and a lovely restaurant near the beach for a romantic dinner of fine food and the poolside lunch food is always fresh and good. Each night there is a buffet of specific cuisine at one of the restaurants.

Well for one, do not trust the prices listed in your directory for room service -- they charge you more when it gets there. The special food festivities are overpriced and, depending on what time of year you go, you do not get the full experience. Food, as everything else at the resort, is OVERPRICED!

Dining onsite at the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta is an experience not to be missed. The food at ALL the restaurants was great. We even went to one outdoor "cookout" that had a show for the kids and adults. That dinner was pricey--$28 per--but the restaurants give good value for kids--namely kids meals are FREE!
