A Trip to Sin City!

The Mirage is a huge hotel on the Las Vegas Strip that has a volcano show out front and a large tropical garden inside. The hotel's pool is amazing with tons of waterfalls everywhere. There is also a day club pool called BARE where women can go topless. The hotel has a large selection of restaurants to choose from ranging from Californa Pizza Kitchen to more upscale Japanese food. There are a couple night clubs in the Mirage as well as a theatre where they do the Beatles Love Show. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very nice. I enjoyed the hip atmosphere.

This is an awesome sight. It was the first casino/hotel free show that we saw. While real lava is obviously not spewed from the volcano, the water is lit up in reds and oranges to simulate the lava. Fire is spewed from the top of the volcano and loud claps of noise simulating a volcano exploding make for a reasonably realistic experience. My boyfriend and I both agreed that this was one of the coolest free exhibits on the strip and went back a second time to see it!

LOVE—Beatles Show at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas

LOVE at Mirage: We sat in the 206 section, first row, "K"— I think the top, least expensive seats would have been perfect for us. The arena is small and all seats are good. There is really nothing you have to be close to the stage to see. It seemed as though we were about level with the stage...the 106 section would have been too close for us and it seemed they had to crane their necks to look up. Music was very loud—I was glad to have ear plugs with me. The music was super duper—the show was very good but not as good as I was expecting —- it’s more about the music than the "show" itself. The "Lucy in the Sky" effects were very enjoyable. We all really enjoyed the "skate boarding" section of the show—talent very impressive.

To compare, I thought the Celine show we saw last fall was better and I left there not quite as impressed as my husband had been (he enjoyed Celine more than Le Reve, I enjoyed Le Reve a little more than Celine and more than LOVE) so it is all relative and very subjective.

The Mirage Volcano

The volcano at the Mirage Hotel and Casino is something that should be seen at least once while you're in Vegas. After nightfall, the volcano erupts about every 15-20 minutes. It is spectacular sight that you won't be able to see anywhere else! You can really feel the heat from the flames if you're standing close enough to it. As the volcano spews fiery water into the air, flames creep down into the water, lighting up the entire lagoon! The show lasts only 5-10 minutes, but is definitely a sight to see.

Seeing the water catch fire was a sight I'd never seen before and it was amazing to see. If you are in Vegas stop by to watch the show.
