I am planning a tour to Galapagos Islands this year to enjoy cruises over there and have great adventure. I have heard that various other activities could also be enjoyed there like biking, kayaking, snorkeling etc. While looking for various tours I had come across an interesting tour: http://www.ekoventure.com/trips/south_america-ecuador-galapagos_islands-wildlife_tours-eco_tours-hiking-mountain_biking-kayaking-snorkeling-exploration-active_sport-yacu-amu-experiences-14944
How did you find it??? All suggestions welcome….
The price is very good - which makes me wonder if it's land based or boat based. I'd expect the latter to be more expensive and I wouldn't imagine you'd get a boat tour for only 4 people.
Mountain biking in Galapagos sounds nuts to me and not the most ecofriendly way to get around. I'm wondering if you're based on one of the big islands (horrible - I didn't like them at all) and might be restricted in the islands that you get to.
Try to get yourself a small boat - no more than 16 people max and one that will take you to a good selection of islands. Our boat was great but it did spend two nights in the harbour on the big island that I really didn't think was for our convenience or enjoyment but just to let the crew get two nights on dry land.
The big ships have fabulous facilities but seeing dozens of small boats being needed to ferry hundreds of passengers onto a small island made me really pleased to be in a small quiet group.
