Quote: Best Things Nearby:
There is great shopping nearby. The stores and malls are within walking distance. For places that are not within walking distance, the bus is very easy to use and very inexpensive. The absolute best thing nearby is the beach!

Best Things About the Resort:
The beach is unsurpassed. The sand is so white and fine. The waves are perfect for swimming, body surfing, etc. The service was excellent and the employees were so friendly to our two children (ages five months and two years). The food was excellent, and again, the service was wonderful. I really enjoyed the restaurants. They were very nice and accomodating and the attitude of the employees was wonderful. The restaurants were not extravagant, but they were perfect for our taste. The food was wonderful!

Resort Experience:
There is a lobby when you first enter, along with gift shops, restaurants, a small gym, a bar, and a billiards/ping-pong room. The restaurants are very nice and family appropriate. The employees were so friendly to our children, as well as us. They knew our names by the second day and smiled each time they saw us. They are not pushy at all and all of them knew English. I speak fluent Spanish, which helped, but it was not necessary. They had games, activities, karaoke night, a diving tank, a nice (but shallow) pool, and all the other amenities that we enjoyed.

I had a room on the second floor with a view of the ocean that was wonderful. When you walk into the room, there is a nice bathroom with a tub and jets. There was a blow dryer, coffee maker as well. Just past the bathroom was a nice wet bar, with a mini refrigerator. Then, there was a nice couch with a coffee table. Finally, there was a step down and two queen beds. They were pretty comfortable, had nice linens, and were in good condition. There was also a TV with many channels in both English and Spanish. There was also a balcony with two chairs that overlooked the ocean. How beautiful!! We could see the beach, the pools, the gathering places. It was perfect!

Each day when we came back to our room, there was a new animal made from our towels. The employees would find something of mine to pattern their towel creations from. We loved to return to a new animal each day! I would highly recommend this resort, especially to anyone with a family.

Chichen ItzaBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Quote: Chichen Itza is a large historical site with many ruins. The Mayans were very advanced. From the observatory, they could tell when to plant their crops, when it would rain, etc. You could clap your hands in front of it and the echo would come from exactly due north, not magnetic north. Everything was so calculated. The big temple had four sides, each having 91 steps to the top (totaling 364 steps) and one last step to the top of the temple, bringing the total stairs to 365 (like the days in a year). There was a monument with 2000 pillars, one pillar for each warrior. There was a huge stadium where they would play games. There is so much to learn from this place. I would love to return. Their culture was so interesting. There are walls that would separate them into society classes. This was a wonderful trip, but it was kind of a long journey for our five-month-old and two-year-old.

SCUBA CancunBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Scuba Diving with Scuba Pro in Cozumel"

Quote: The friendly staff helped us gear up and took us to our boat. We did a rear entry off the boat and into the beautiful water! We had amateurs with us, so we only did two shallow 45-foot dives. They were both along beautiful reefs and were current dives. Our dive master took us along the coral and pointed out several interesting items. We say many types of fish. I am determined to buy a fish guide so I can learn about what I see down in the deep blue. I do know that we saw an octopus, a moray eel, several crabs and conch shells, a couple of very large barracuda, and countless other types of beautiful fish swimming everywhere. We could see for a very long ways, as the water was clear and pristine. These two dives were very enjoyable. When I return to Cancun, I will also return to Cozumel for further diving experiences!
