Viva Las Vegas

A February 2005 trip to Las Vegas by Roselito

Quote: We stayed at Summerbay Resort in Las Vegas. The rooms are NOT like they show on the pictures. Pictures advertised are nicer than what you get, but the condo was decent enough to stay. All in all we had a great time in Vegas.

The shuttle is $5 to take you to the resort, which would be the cheapest way to get there. I was delighted that the resort was in the middle of the strip right behind the Imperial Palace. We checked in at the main lobby which is across the street of our condo. The main center has activities for the children as well as the seniors. There's a fitness center and an outdoor pool. The staff were friendly. There's a DVD vendor machine(expensive-7$ rental)and a food and souvenir store. There's a shuttle to bring you the casino hotels as well as the Vons grocery store. Now, the condo itself did not look like the pictures they advertise. It's not bad, but it's not the best. It's a simply furnished resor...Read More

Best Things Nearby:You're right behind the Imperial Palace. You make your way through the parking lot, and there's a hotel/casino entrance that will lead you to the front entrance of the hotel. You'll find yourself right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. To the left is the Bally's and Flamingo Casino/Hotel. Across the street is the Bellagio Hotel and Ceasar's Casino/Hotel. To your right is Harrahs and the Venetian Hotel. Most of the casinos/hotels are within walking distance. The farthest are the Mandalay Bay and the Stratoshere. There are shops within the hotels, as well as the fashion mall about a 10-minute walk away for those who love to shop. Most of the stores are high-end, but you can...Read More

The line-up is long but goes very fast. You have to pay first, before you dine, and then the hostess seats you. There's a very friendly ambience. The question is, what don't they serve. I really did not know where to begin selecting my food. They had everything from seafood, American cuisine, Italian, Chinese, and much more. The desserts were mouthwatering, especially the Italian cheesecake. You must try the champagne brunch buffet. I was in food heaven.
