Restaurant | "Comfort Food"

Stepping into Farmbrown, I didn't expect myself to be in the midst of a bustling and nice restaurant.

There was a bar where many diners were huddled. Families were seated in long tables near the windows. Couples could be found in a dimly lit corner.

We found our table and were given a view of a classic movie that was projected on a wall. The ambiance was homey and culturally interesting.

The food was the best I had in San Francisco. The steak was delectable and suited my spice-loving Asian palette. It wasn't too expensive either and I'd say that it was one of the nicest restaurants I visited in my short stay in the US.

Hotel | "Right at the heart of San Francisco"

Because of our conference, we were billeted at Hilton San Francisco, which could hold a large number of participants. It has enough function rooms for the separate meetings. Most importantly, it was a good walking distance from the conference venue, which was Moscone West.Being a first-timer in San Francisco, I believe Hilton San Francisco was the best place for me where I could gaze at the beautiful city scape from my hotel office. On a bigger scale, it was my first time across the Pacific.I went to the US to attend the 2009 National Conference on Volunteering and Service. It was a big shot event opened by no less than First Lady Michelle Obama.
