I had a deluxe luv tub room which looked great in the photos. The room is clean but the carpet is old and worn and the luv tub was nothing more than a big bath in the middle of the room. What i liked about the room was the view, i heard so much about taking a street view room that the noise was bad as theres a band playing in the open air at night till 2am however this didnt pose a problem. It is also had a terrace where you could open the door and walk out, which i have never seen in a Vegas hotel.
The casino floor is great, the slot machines arent so loose but it has a great keno lounge and a great sportsbook. The buffet here is good but also harrahs hotel is nearby and does a great (though expensive buffet). The staff are friendly and the position on the strip is fantastic and what is really great is the hotel has its own monorail station, buy an all day pass for 9 dollars its really worth it.
The hotel on the casino floor has a number of impersonators who frequently get up and sing a song. The Michael Jackson impersonator is good i saw him getting off the monorail one day. Not what youd expect your favourite megastar to do but i thought it funny. The drinks are good for the strip, the service is good in parts of the hotel and not so good elsewhere. Note go to the casino keno lounge the drinks are plentiful.
The staff were nice and held my luggage, it is really accessible to the strip and is in the good area where all the action is. Its near the mirage, treasure island, caesars and it is mid strip so a short walk to another casino is possible.
Id recommend the hotel for those on a budget, there are lots of eateries nearby and the mcdonalds is always good for a cheap breakfast. For more money saving dont shop at the local shops for essentials, a shop was selling alcohol well over the odds and bottles of water were expensive. Take the monorail to the sahara and theres lots of discount shops here.
However the bars and the entertainment are good and people are sociable, its easy to get to Imperial Palace from the airport. All in all id recommend it to those that want to save a little money and still have a good Vegas expensive but if youre expecting luxury go elsewhere. I loved my time in the Riviera hotel. I heard a lot of reviews about dirty rooms and bad service but that wasnt my case at all. The Riviera is on the north end of the strip but not as far as the sahara or the stratosphere, so a keen walker like myself who doesnt want to use the duece bus can make their way on foot to caesars in half an hour. The only downside is there is a long distance to the nearest monorail station which requires you to walk to the station at the Sahara hotel about 10 minutes walk away.

This is a good hotel for people on a budget lots of low cost eateries and fast food places for a cheapo breakfast at the entrance. I never went to the buffet as there was a big queue but it seemed affordable. Circus Circus is across the road and slots of fun which do dollar hot dogs and fries so there is no need to break the budget. It is also near an enclave of shops to buy cheap food, gifts water, alcohol all the things you would need on a holiday that you would spend a lot more for centre strip.

As a casino i didnt think very highly of it, the slots are not loose the sahara is my best hotel for this. The service i got was good and people are nice. Housekeeping and casino staff are good and cocktail service happens but not the best standard. I liked the sports book there, i won some money and the staff there are great, but they could do with a better drinks service as you had to buy your own drink.

The Riveria is handy for the duece bus both on and off strip as there are side entrances into it. Sure it needs some reinvation from the fact that things are dated but i have stayed in hotels that were a lot worse. It does a comedy club and cheap shows and quite close to the hotel is a stall that sells discount tickets to shows.

Overall it was a good hotel, slightly out of the way but a good bargain price. I would definitely return. Read Less

The rooms are clean and modern but some have great views whereas others have views of brick walls. I found the rooms small though. As it is so big you will spend most of your time in a lift but there are several of them. One good thing though the Stratosphere has its own laundry room for residents and it is great to get your washing down for only a few dollars as to use any other hotels dry clean facilities would cost 5 or 6 dollars for a pair of trousers and shirt alone.

The casino is clean and modern, i liked the sports book. Slot machines tend to be a bit tight, however waiting service is good and drinks are plentiful if youre gambling. The buffet is awesome, really good quality food for a reasonable price. Check the Stratosphere's own website for good deals too as they sometimes give good credit on food and free tickets for shows. I went to the top of the world restuarant for my 37th birthday and it was an experience that i will never forget with the restuarant circling around as we ate. Very expensive though so im glad that a friend was paying for it as my birthday present.

Down sides it is at the end of the strip on the north side, the area could be quite questionable at night, but it didnt stop me from walking to the sahara which is a great casino. There is a duece bus stop where you can get all day ticket for 3 dollars which allows you to go downtown to see the freemont street experience but it is a long journey time, stopping at every stop. Another tip if you are short on money you can also get a bus from the airport with the same all day ticket, of which the bus travels alongside Paradise and will eventually bring you alongside the Stratosphere but be prepared it may be a daunting experience travelling on an american bus with some of characters you could meet

The Stratosphere is a good hotel and you can get some good rates. It is enjoyable and quite young crowd. It has a 70s/80s nightclub with quite overpriced drinks and a free for women entrance and a $10 mens entrance fee.
There are quite a few cheap souveneir, food shops and 7/11s which will sell all the water and extras that hotels usually charge through the nose for about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are also duece bus stops outside the hotel which will transport you downtown as well as to the strip.
It wasnt the best hotel i had been to and due to the position on the strip unless you are wanting to travel by the manic buses and overpriced taxis it is kind of out of the action, but otherwise is a very clean and presentable hotel. Read Less
