Beekman Tower Hotel Best of IgoUgo

Hotel | "A nice 4 star hotel located in Manhattan, New York."

Quote:
Beekman Towers Hotel is located on No. 3 Mitchell Place, New York. This is about 5 minutes walk from the United Nations building in New York and Trump World Tower. It's a big hotel with 173 rooms spread over 26 floors and it has a restaurant on the top floor. On the ground floor you have the front desk, manned by 2 persons. The ground looks very neat and taken care off. Built in an Art Deco style, which feels a bit old old, but stylish. Also on the ground floor you have a seat and a secure area where you can leave your luggage. There is a porter and someone who can bring up your luggage. You have a choice of three elevators that go up and bring you to one of the 26 floors.Beekman Tow...Read More

Madame Tussauds Best of IgoUgo

Attraction

Quote:
My friend and I had some hours to spend in New York before we were taken to the airport. We walked past Madame Tussaud's and then decided to go in there.GeneralIt’s a wax museum with statues of celebrities. Madame Tussaud's is located in downtown New York's Times Square and near the famous Port Authority bus station. The exact address is 234 West 42nd Street, but you can not miss it, we saw already two blocks away. The easiest way to get there is by subway or bus or at the Times Square stop or at Port Authority. From there you need about a half block walk to get to this museum. How much does it cost?Madame Tussaud's in New York is quite pricey. There...Read More

W New York Times Square Best of IgoUgo

Hotel | "W Times Square"

Quote:
W Times SquareAs the name implies, the hotel lies close to Times Square. This is probably the best known and busiest "Square" in New York. You can find all the shops, metro lines, hotel chains and a lot of restaurants. Everything is open day and night so you always have something to do nearby.Located at Broadway and 47th Street, which is about 5 blocks walk from the "real" Times Square (42nd Street). This is easy in less than ten minutes to do and the shops of Times Square fall to around 50th street, so they are simply at the doorstep. The W Hotels are also fairly well known because it belongs to the Starwood group (also including the Sheraton and St. Regis hotels). ...Read More

Nobu Best of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Nobu, New York"

Quote:
After seeing many photographs of Hollywood stars going to Nobu in New York, I wanted to go there. On my first night there I had a reservation with my two best friends.GeneralNobu is located at 105 Hudson Street in Tribeca. Tribeca is a famous neighborhood in New York where many artists live and where especially at night is a lot to do. This used to be an industrial area, so there are a lot of huge warehouses. It is admittedly on a street corner, but from the outside you would not really say that there is a restaurant behind it. It is a very dark, small sign where the name on it and it's not exactly clear. The name comes from the chef Nobu Matsuhisa . He is a top cook who learne...Read More

For the U.S. Open (tennis), we went with the family to New York in late August and we then stayed for two weeks at the St. Regis overnight. Such a cozy hotel with such good service we had never seen!GeneralThe St. Regis is part of the Starwood Hotels chain and has won many awards (including best hotel in New York several magazines). The hotel has been around since 1904 and was renovated in 2005. The hotel is known for his "King Cole Bar, a hotspot for celebrities and of course the place where the Bloody Mary was invented.locationHotel lights up 5th Avenue in the middle of Manhattan and only a few blocks away from Central Park.
