The reservation agent couldn't even get the reservation right--that should have been my first sign to stay away! When I called to confirm a reservation made months in advance, two weeks before my arrival-I was told by a different agent it wasn't in the system. She graciously helped me set up another-but the night I checked in--my husband and I went to our room to discover two twin beds and non smoking instead of the King Bed smoking room that was confirmed. A quick call to the front desk yielded an unapologetic--all the other rooms were sold out (..but I had a confirmation!...) This hotel doesn't have "modern electronic" checkout--but our flight was leaving very early in the morning. Of course, we got to the desk and no one was there --so we left our keys in the drop box--with a leary feeling. Two days later I get home and I have two different charges on my bank card! This is still being sorted out--but the agent told me that when people use a debit card-the hotel charges a deposit that takes 24-48 hours to be reimbursed...it's been two days --it's still there--and the more infuriating part--the agent at the front desk hadn't bothered to tell me this (anything about a deposit--or policy regarding debit card use) when I checked in.
I am ommitting in this review the more heinous details of a room with crumbly bathroom plaster, old nasty patio furniture on the balcony, and out dated furniture. If you don't care about your money or the conditions in which you sleep-then take a chance and stay here--otherwise STAY AWAY!!
Can be a good stay at the right time

I've had Jekyll and Hyde experiences with this place. My first stay was excellent, with a room well above average for downtown Vegas for below average rate. I managed to finangle an even lower rate for my second stay but the room was on the sub-par east side of the casino. If you check in on a slow day or early in the day you will get the tower side which is nice. Checking in during later hours will likely get you on the east side, which has smaller, older rooms that are poorly lit--think The Shining sans the whole redrum thing.
Apparently the casino was bought earlier this year, and the new owners have made some good changes (the sports book was moved, enlarged, and finally has a digital LED display), but there are still some changes that need to be made to make Binions a step above the other cut-rate downtown casino/hotels.
Hotel experience meant our standards.

The Hotel accomodations were great for the price we paid. I would recomment the Hotel to my friends and family. We are going to have another reunion next year and we will probably stay at the same hotel.
Horrible Experience

What a horrible experience at the craps table!!! I walk up, buy in for a couple of hundred, and basically get harrassed the whole time I am there (for all about ten minutes). I like to set the dice when I throw them and two older dealers are harrassing me with snide remarks while the boxman named Allen just sat there and let them do it. I have never been so insulted or harrassed at a craps table like this ever. If this is how Binion's wants to do business, I would suggest you take your business elsewhere.

my hotel stay was booked for the Golden Nugget a GREAT HOTEL, but the night we arrived their housekeeping staff had staged a walk out, so they had to call In the staff that was seceduled to be off that day and did not have rooms ready so they paid for us to stay one night at Binos. We agreed and the nightmare began. we were greeted with the most rudest staff I have ever encountered, they treated us as If we intruded their space, the halls were dark, the rooms dirty and had a musky order. we could'nt wait to check out the next day.
at check out we complained to the staff but once again we were meet with rudeness.
when checking Into the Golden Nugget we informed them of the issues we encounted at Bino's and suggested they find a new hotel to send guest to. They apologized and credited our credit cards for our first night stay. Now that Is the different between a five star hotel that
works hard on customer service. and a one star hotel that could careless about customer service.
