Worst of the worst

Staff just doesn't care! Don't waste your time or money. Decor is like a dingy cabin in the back woods. Check in desk person stayed on the phone during our check in and never asked anything, and gave us no information at all. Plain rude ! Buffet is over priced and staff is not very interested. Not a courtesy in the place. Better to stay home. The PITS.

Fabulous Stay!

We stayed here for the weekend and it was very comfortable, clean and the staff was awesome. The only problem we ran into was the LOUD emergency siren that went off 3 times in the middle of the night but I guess it's our fault, we were in Vegas and should have been out partying instead of trying to sleep!! LOL They did however, give us another night half off which worked out great for us!

Fair, but there are better places out there.

Got good deal for a weekend rate through travel agent (Vegas can be pricey on weekends) - that and the Bass Pro Shop is about all the 'pro' on this hotel. Cons: Bathrooms are TINY! (Ladies, there is no place for priming or preening.. bad lighting, too small unless you like hoving over toilet to put on your make-up). Air conditioners are window units that maintenance had to come thaw out twice because they froze up (not to mention, it didn't cool room very well). Rooms are pretty standard - nothing to write home about. Housekeeping never cleaned our room - we even turned the door-handle sign to request service when we left for the day. However, the hotel manager did 'make it right' on check-out; so he gets points for that. Room itself wasn't bad (stayed in worse), but did show some age - again, especially in the bathroom. Can't comment on the pool - didn't use it, but it looked okay from afar. Decor was as advertised. Ate at the coffee shop in middle of night (okay, early am) - was standard fare - not overpriced for Vegas. Ate lunch once in Mexican joint - again, was not bad. Probably better for people on short-stays w/children.. the huge aquarium w/the frequent 'mermaid' show is educational / fun for kids. Off strip, so your own transportation is essential. And a big budget for the Pro Shop is a good idea too :)

Terrible Visit

Terrible experience. Walls and floors are too thin. We could hear the tv in the next room. We were also kept awake by the footsteps in the room above ours. It sounded like a herd cattle were rooming above us. I finally called security but nothing changed then the cattle got up at 5 am which woke us up. Housekeeping is terrible. We were there 9 days. They constantly forgot to put soap and other items in our bathroom. I found a cut on my heel which left two blood stains on my sheets. So I left the card on my bed requesting for the sheets to be changed. They were not. So I left the card on top of the blood stains. The sheets still were not changed. One evening we returned to find that our room was not cleaned at all. I reported it to the front desk and then saw the Operations Manager in the hall and told him. This hotel gives you nothing. Every other hotel I?ve stayed in in Vegas gives you a coupon book when you check in. Not the Silverton. Plus there?s no coffee maker in the room, no microwave and no refrigertor. There?s only a minibar which I had to empty so I could put my items in it. Do not expect a room with a view because there are no good views and the rooms are too dark including the bathroom. Our view was the service alley all week. The buffet is not very good and is very very expensive. Internet is expensive. I would advise everyone to choose another hotel and not stay at the Silverton. You will regret it.

Great room, good value.

Great room fo the price. Staff was friendly efficient. Restaurants were clean, service was quick and our stay was very pleasant. We will consider the Silverton the next time we are in the area. The remodeling and construction that was going on was never a problem.
