Checked into hotel and was greeted by a smiling face, every employee was very professional and courteous. Room was very clean the must of just renovated room looked very updated. Hotel location was great right in the middle of walking distance to all. Hotel is located right on beach which was great... kids loved playing on the beach and the pool...The best part was watching the sunset with the family.

The beach location is beautiful. The rooms are decent but somewhat small (I usually opt for a suite when available). Not bad for what you spend and there's plenty of white sand. "Beachcomber's" is a decent upscale restaurant with a very good wine list. There's really no need for valet parking as there are ample spaces available. The best Bloody Mary I've ever had is right across the street but I forgot the name of it - they used no prebottled mixers and the horseradish had to be very fresh. I'd stay here again if for no other reason than the beach. There ARE renovations going on but didn't get in the way too much. The pool was about average but nice. They will bring food and drink to you whether poolside or oceanside for a fee. There are many cheap, direct flights to Tampa - about 15 miles away. It's about the same to rent a car as to take a taxi if you're only staying a few days.

This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat. Be sure and ask for a renovated room on a higher floor with a view. Also, not all the rooms have balconies, so if this is important to you, make sure and request one. There are many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Be sure and visit Rockaways (a couple of blocks north). It's a fabulous place to watch the sunset and the food is quite good for the price. Palm Pavillion is where the locals go for a good grouper sandwich and for a splurge, go to the Island Way Grille.

We have stayed at this hotel many times, often on reward points. It is an overrated resort, however we like it for beach access, the seafood buffet, the breakfast diner across the street. We like to hike the Osprey reserve which is nearby. The hotel tends to be noisy with the pier and park activites next door. Guests tend to be nice but lack a certain class that Hilton tends to attract. Hotel tends to smell musty because swimmers walk around dripping wet. Hotel staff needs to address this issue. But it is still our first choice when we want a beach location, even in December!

We've stayed at many Hiltons throughout the U.S. This one is like two separate hotels. The upper rooms have been renovated - they are great. The lower rooms look like a Holiday Inn. Even the balcony chairs are plastic. Ask for upper rooms off the strret - because of the noise. Beach and service are great!
