Fabulous Hotel

Stayed with my 15 year old daughter. She loved it! LOVED the location of the hotel. Right in the middle of all that happens. Tour sign up and buss pick up are right out front, easy walk to many sights. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was JUST like the pictures, we found it comfortable and very quiet. Don't stay pool side if you want quiet and conservative. If you're looking for a kids club, moderate family place, it's not for you. If you are looking for the happening hotel to feel the vib of Hollywood with the locals and the stars, STAY! Will stay again and have recommended it to friends!

Expect bad treatment if you are over 40

We were closed off to these advertised "Amenities": Teddy's (bar) and the historic lobby (seriously!) due to a private party- which we were not informed of prior to arriving. Wow - how can a hotel guest be told they could not use these major parts of the hotel?!?!? Night manager told us to "go to another club". Wow, that was unreal. We were surrounded by young people - the staff -who were very rude and disrespectful to us. (We are over 40.) This hotel advertises a cool vibe - but obviously being over 40 is uncool. They also advertise great personal service but we saw nothing of that! We actually checked out at 10:30 PM, it was that unfun. We felt quite misled by the Thompson Group's website and it's other advertising. Room service food was very dissappointing and took twice as long as stated. Room was not that clean.

Not for kids, very loud, rooms not like pictures!!

We reserved a room on line, they looked very spacious and very nice. We even upgraded, our room was so small, and not at all like the pics on line. It was clean and alright, but we were very dissapointed after paying extra. They say no age restrictions, but kids can't go anywhere, not even the pool. The neighbors were having a party when we got in our room late on Friday evening, and then they got up at 6:00 A.M. and started again! We could hear everything they were saying, very thin walls, very loud! The fan in the bathroom was so loud we had to turn it off, the heater made a really loud noise so we turned it off. The prices for drinks is astronomical! $30 for 2 drinks! When we complained the next day, they only apologized. It was only after I asked for a Manager that the clerk deducted a small amount from our bill. There are 5-6 guys handling the valte, but it took over 20 mins. for us to get our truck! Very beautiful hotel, wish our stay would have been more worth it. We won't be back.

After being allowed to check-in early 45 min early, a staff person came by within an hour to check the mini-bar on the PREVIOUS guest's stay. Within a day I was charged for an item. Being only person in room, I knew I had taken nothing. It took two days to fight to get that off bill. Then A/C was turned on full blast for 72 straight hours and room never got below 76 degrees. Finally on third night I asked if they monitored temperature in all rooms and controlled it? I was told 'no' and I could have it as cool as I liked. At 10:25pm engineers came up and verified it was not blowing cold air. I was to be called by GM next morning and moved from my $ night room in a so-called 4 star hotel that had no A/C. No call. I followed up and was upgraded and moved about 5pm on fourth of five days. Instead of a small 350 sq ft room I was in a small 400 sq ft room with no hot water. The staff try hard but and there is an air of superiority and 'snobishness' among Front Desk Staff. The Valet took 25 minutes to pull my car -- called ahead -- (stored off property @ $ day) and then mocked my rent a car as not being classy enough to show case in Main parking lot with the RR, BMW, etc. Finally, upon trying to check-out from room, that TV service was not available and now my Visa shows another (or maybe the original) mini-bar charge, again! I mailed to property a letter requesting some kind of consideration if I was to ever stay again and have heard nothing.

Best hotel experience--ever.

My husband and I decided to go to LA for his 30th birthday, and we were trying to decide between the Roosevelt and another hotel. I am so glad we chose the Roosevelt! I had mentioned in my reservation that it was my husband's birthday, and they upgraded our room from a King to a Suite. Our room was absolutely beautiful. We then went to the pool and ordered lunch-- a little pricey but well worth it. The pool area (I think it's also the Tropicana bar) was gorgeous and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a relaxing, luxurious weekend you never need to leave the hotel. When we called for our car to go to dinner, it was ready when we got downstairs and the valets were very professional and helped us map out a route to dinner. When we returned, we went to bed early, and although our room overlooked the pool it was not noisy at all. We ate breakfast the next morning at the 25 degree restaurant, and it was really good. The waiter even recommended a place for dinner that night down the street that turned out to be fantastic. The staff really knows the area well. That day I had a minor problem that I had to call the front desk about, and that evening they sent up an apology note with a bottle of wine! The problem was so minor I had forgotten all about it. Every minute of our stay was wonderful, every inch of the hotel is gorgeous, and every staff member was amazing. I really have to say that I have never had service like this at a hotel before, and anytime we return to LA we will stay at the Roosevelt.
