Madison Rocks

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a one night stay at the Madison. Overall, it was excellent. We were impressed with the room and its appointments. The staff was friendly, responsive and eager to please. If you're in Memphis and are looking upscale, I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Madison.

Mad for the Madison!

We couldn't believe how happy we were with The Madison. We travel quite a bit and are usually "satisfied" with our accommodations, but rarely are we so pleased. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was beautiful (and clean!) We only wish we could have stayed longer!

The Best Place to Stay

After a scary experience with a near by Hotel I walked into the Madison and was greet by the most friendly wonderful young woman that made me feeling valued and welcome. After explaining my early departure from the other hotel this young woman made sure she had a wonderful, beautiful room available for me for the rest of my trip to Memphis. She checked on me regularly to ensure my stay was wonderful. The room and staff was fabulous. If you are planning a trip to Memphis is definately is worth sending the few extra dollars to stay here. The tubs with jets helped me relax after a full day of site seeing. If I were ever to find myself back in Memphis I would most diffinately stay here. It was beyond 5 stars. I highly recommend this hotel. Everyone from the doormen, to the front desk to the cleaning staff made me feeling welcomed and valued. A diffinate must stay place.

Pricey but for what?

The room was very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. However, parking is nearly non-existent unless you opt for the $20+ valet. The "free" continental breakfast turned out to cost an additional $15 each with no help from the desk worker when checking out. The pool is "closed for repair". Too many other newer places in the area to stay that would be more "user friendly". For $200 a night I expected a lot more than what we got. Had it not been for the friendliness of the staff, it would have been rated a 1.

Sweet dreams in sweet beds

The Madison is very nice. The good - Spacious room, (we had the deluxe king), bathroom very nice, The front desk was very friendly. The the down comfortors and pillows were fantastic. The drawbacks... Our view of the river also included a really ugly air conditioner from the building next door, the continetal breakfast was lame and the hotel lacks any sort of vending machine that sells tums/rolaids, etc. I had heartburn at 1 am. Rooftop is nice, needs a few more benches and potted plants. Overall I would stay again, but I would make sure to bring tums!
