I made the reservation on their web site at lunch time on Thursday. Saturday afternoon, when we arrived at the Admiral Fell Inn, our reservation was not to be found. I had the confirmation number, which helped with the desk staff finally decided to call the reservation line for assistance. She found the reservation and pushed it through to the hotel system while we enjoyed a quiet conversation in one of the beautiful, cozy lobby sitting areas.
Key cards in hand, we took the elevator to the fourth floor, wound our way through the hot, stuffy hallway, and opened the door to our room. The room was spacious and sunny. The king bed was the centerpiece of the room, but there was also a love seat, a chair with an ottoman, a desk, and an armoire for the TV.
I checked the bathroom to make sure that the jacuzzi tub I reserved was really there. It was, along with plenty of extra towels.
My husband drew open the curtains to find a glass door leading to a balcony. It was triangular rooftop balcony with two round tables with chairs and a wooden bench. It was shared with the room next door, but the room apparently was vacant during our stay.
I settled on the bed and was about to open my birthday gift when the door beeped and another couple started to walk in. Startled and confused, the left to return to the lobby. A few minutes later, the phone rang. The desk clerk asked my husband a number of questions and then said he'd call back. He called back a few minutes later and again asked our name. He seemed shocked that we were the ones in that particular room, but he apologized for the mixup.
Things were normal until we came back from an event around 1:30 am. There was no valet. We went into the hotel (which requires a key card to access after 11pm) and spoke to the front desk clerk. We asked about the Valet and she disdainfully said, "Well you're out past midnight." No one had mentioned that the valet closed at midnight, nor was there was any notice on the valet stub or in the room. My husband asked where we could/should park, and she said we could park anywhere in the neighborhood (which is actually still hopping at 1:30 am - and parking here is not easy to find). It wasn't until he asked whether the valet parking fee would be refunded in part or in full since we were unable to take advantage of it that she mentioned that we could park in the garage that they use, fill out a valet tag and return it to her, and then the valet could retrieve our car upon check out without us having to pay for the garage.
We slept well and checked out without further incident. We liked the room and the balcony. I enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi tub. We might even give it another chance.

Spent 5 days here with family (total 3 rtooms) for a graduation at UMB. Really appreciated the historic charm and location. One could not ask for more. Lobby and rooms were furnished very nicely and I cannot tel you when I have had a more comfortable hotel bed. Our room looked out over an interior courtyard so was very quiet as well.
All the staff was helpfull and friendly and even made suggestions on how to park the car at a lower cost than using their valet.
There are so many wonderful local pubs and restaurants nearby. X and X at the desk were wonderful guiding us this way and that but one cannot beat Alexander's, Bertha's, DuClaw, Jimmy's -- all w/i a 5-10 minute walk.
Would highly recommend a stay at the AFI to anyone -- especially those looking for something other than a "cookie cutter" hotel. I know we will saty there again.
Tricks are not fun.

I gave this hotel and overall rating of terrible in order to get your attention. If you're like me, you only read the bad reviews of hotels if there are any. What irked me about the Admiral Fell Inn is the $9.95 *extra* above and beyond the room rate you get charged every day. The services listed aren't really that spectacular and many hotels include them in their room rate. It's just a tricky gimmick by the Admiral Fell Inn to make it appear cheaper than it is. It's very irritating. Nevertheless...I found the staff to be very friendly and professional. My room was nicely appointed and clean. Avoid the valet parking fee by parking in one of the garages a few blocks away. Note - one of the garages is not open on Sunday so read the hours of operation before parking.

While the hotel rooms are small they are very nicely furnished for the price. The only problem I could see for someone is the foot traffic on the street is very loud when the bars let out. For us that was not a problem. The staff was outstanding and went out of there way to take care of a couple of minor discrepencies. We really felt we were taken care of.
The decor is very regal and there is a great little bar and two restaurants attached. Meli is a great lounge for after dinner drinks and desert. Fin had some of the best chicken we ever had. The bar staff was great to talk to.
This was our second trip to the Admiral Fell and we will definitely becoming back!! If you are considering a trip to Fell's Point/Inner Harbor, the Admiral Fell is the only way to go. Fell's Point rocks!!!!

This hotel was very quaint, smack dab in Fells Point. If your desire is to drink, eat and sightsee, then this is the place for you. Great bars and restaurants abound - a bit pricey, but it is a very historical touristy area. he room was very cozy and clean, but the ice vending area was filthy the entire three nights we were there.
