We stayed here for 1 week with 5 adults & 2 children. Our stay went from bad to worse. First they put us with our children near the adult pool where there was swearing. The sinks were held together with rusted wire and our beds were actually wet! When we asked to change rooms, they told us that they put us in one of the best rooms on the property. If that was the case, I?d hate to see what the bad ones looked like. There was no room service. Customer service was nill. Not once did anyone ask if we wanted something to drink. When we wanted anything we had to wait in long lines, the service was horrible, and what we got was even worse! Everyone including management were very rude. No one once asked how we were liking our stay or how they could make it better. We had to stand in a line each morning for restaurant reservations, which we could never even get. If we were able to get into one of the restaurants we couldn't get in until after 9pm even with children! They served us hot dogs morning, noon, & night. They substituted hot dogs for bacon/sausage at breakfast and actually sliced hot dogs on the pizza! The last full day there it rained all day. I asked the staff if they could play some music or play games with us to pass the time since there was nothing to do. Not once did someone come by to entertain us or ask us what they could do to make our day better. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially with children.

Had an all girls vacation and had a wonderful time. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Check in and out was a breeze. Food was great, room was clean and very comfortable except better air conditioning would have been good. Adult pool was nice and quiet. Beach was kept clean. Lots of resort activities. Shows were very good. 24 hr. Snack bar was great. Great vacation for the money. Would do it all over again!!
loved it

I looked for quite a while for a good deal at a place I would feel safe and yet be able to have fun and relax. We hit the nail on the head. I was so impressed with the staff and the hotel, I would've booked another week and stayed longer. We had a great time. When we wanted to do something, there were things to be done. When we didn't, we could be on the beach. The weather was great. The fresh fruit was great. The juice bar was great. The drinks were decent and the beach was the best of any on our part of the city. It has been a long hard year with my mom getting sick and dying...and any time we want to think back to our vacation we just start singing the Viva song from our vacation. Next time, we'll probably try the hotel in the Dominican. If I could do it again, I'd stay two weeks and have our kids come for the second week to enjoy it with us some.
Okay, but wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed at the Viva Wyndham Maya for our honeymoon and got a great price for the trip. In the end, I wish we would have splurged a little bit to get a place less family oriented and more romantic. There were tons of kids and at the main pool it was constant chaos. Luckily there is a relax pool for adults only, and it is very quiet.
The food was terrible. You can only make reservations at the restaurants so many times. For all the meals that you don't eat at the restaurant (which is several), you have to eat at the buffet. And the buffet is terrible!
Overall, considering what we paid, I guess we got our money's worth. However, we will not be staying at Viva Wyndham anymore.
