Quote: For several weeks before our trip to Vegas, we tried to book decent seats for Mystere, but the website kept showing us seats in the very back row. However, we tried again 3 days before our trip and ended up getting two seats dead-center front row! Apparently, a portion of the seats are only put on sale a few days before every show. I would recommend the second row over the first row, however, as there is a safety bar running along the first row that may inhibit the view of shorter patrons.

We greatly enjoyed Mystere, particularly the changes that were possible with the moving stage. We had seen La Nouba in Orlando a few months earlier. Out of the two shows, I prefered La Nouba, as it is much more athletic, whereas Mystere seems to place emphasis on artistry over athleticism. From the front row, it was clear that this is an older show, as some of the costumes and props were quite dirty and worn. The entertainment value was not inhibited by this, though. The show runs about 1.5 hours nonstop. The standard tumbling and trapeze acts were part of the show but were much more innovative and daring than an average circus. The show had two very funny characters interlaced in and out of the plot as well. Be careful if you sit in the front row! You may be participating more than you'd like!

Quote: Wow, it costs $95 per person now. It used to cost $80. Vegas is hitting up people hard for tickets now. I paid about $95 for Blue Man Group as well. We visited the gift shop before doors opened. It was less crowded. Once inside, I was glad not to have been late. Latecomers are picked on. This show interacts with the audience members. Although it's fun to watch, I wouldn't have liked to have missed the show if I had been picked, being backstage as a participant. I don't think that the participants were plants.

Cirque du Soleil is known for their acrobatics, and I was surprised to see one of the trapeze artists fall. Since this is a rare event, it was sort of cool to see a mishap like this, although I would have preferred to see the completed stunt. I really enjoyed the music, so after the show finished in a quick 100 minutes, we went back to the gift shop, which was mobbed with people, to buy a CD as a souvenir. I can't wait until the next Cirque show, either Zumanity or Ka.

Quote: The show was fantastic and I would recommend it highly. It was appropriate for families as well as adults. Located in the Treasure Island resort, it was conveniently located to our timeshare. There were no bad seats and very comfortable.

Quote: There were so many great shows, it was hard to decide which one to see. We finally decided that a Cirque du Soleil show was the way to go. We looked on Vegas.com for ticket prices to "O" at the Bellagio. The lowest price was $121 -- for an obstructed-view seat. Um, I don't think so. So we read about Mystere, and decided that the $89 was more reasonable. We weren't disappointed.

The show is just a barrage on the senses. Color everywhere, incredibly talented performers, and a very funny clown. I wasn't expecting to laugh, but the acrobatic performances are peppered with funny skits and, well, the clown. (Who is not dressed in makeup and a red nose -- he looks more like a slightly crazy orchestra conductor.) He really interacts with the audience, throwing popcorn around, (mis)leading people to their seats, etc. And as for the acrobatic performers -- well, I couldn't believe that the human body could even do some of their tricks. Mine won't, anyway. :)

The theater in Treasure Island was very nice. There couldn't have been a bad seat in the place. It was just a wonderful show in a wonderful venue.

Quote: This is like nothing you've ever seen before. The performers and acrobats do amazing stunts. You keep asking yourself, "How did they do that?" The music is great and the costumes are wonderfully different. There is a clown that mingles in the audience and picks on some audience members -- he is superb! I was mesmerized. My 12-year-old son who is tough to impress asked me at the end of the show if we could see the show again tomorrow night. This show is worth every penny of the admission price.
