As a pre-holiday treat, two IgoUgo members whisked their respective families away to kid-friendly locales. Get tips for family trips as cool grandmother zabelle spills the (Boston baked) beans and mh75 takes a bite out of (chocolate in) Hershey, PA, in their recent Best of IgoUgo entries.
In Sharing Beantown with Amie, zabelle calls Boston a “great choice” for spending time with her 13-year-old granddaughter. With grandpa in tow, the trio hit the classics—the Old State House, Paul Revere House, and Old North Church—and (slightly) newer must-sees like Durgin Park restaurant (where the youngest visitor, of course, ordered chicken fingers). Perhaps the biggest family-bonding moment came when they reached Bunker Hill Monument to tour the site where one of their ancestors fought in the American Revolution (even if he was on the other side).
The Hershey journal of mh75, aptly and enthusiastically titled The Sweetest Place on Earth!, is full of high-sugar content. By day, he and his young family visited Santa Land (for the “BEST” hot chocolate ever), the zoo, and Chocolate World. By night, it was all about the Hershey Sweet Lights experience, complete with more hot chocolate. All in all, he says, “I very highly recommend the Christmas in Hershey experience. If you go with young ones, you will NOT be disappointed!”
