Six More Weeks of Winter? Let's All Go Skiing!

It’s Groundhog Day all over again, and six more weeks of winter have been decreed. On the bright side, that’s ample time for a ski trip, and we love these new piste picks from Lenuca, ScarlettO, Huggins, and Rigoulene. Appropriately enough for today, one of the areas is even called Badger Pass.

New member Lenuca’s first IgoUgo journal, Colorado Skiing 08: Tips from Frequent CO Skiers, bulges with reviews of her family’s “best-kept-secret ski resorts” in Glenwood Springs, Sunlight Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen, and Vail. Read about her 10-day, resort-hopping trip to see which one gets her vote for the best “hidden-treasure ski resort in Colorado.”

ScarlettO’s latest review details her “really great experience” skiing historic Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park. “It's not a chichi über-expensive resort-type experience,” she says, but that’s part of its appeal.

Huggins is writing again after nearly four years off, sharing “economical and accessible” (and green!) ideas for family skiing in his journal Spring Skiing in the Berkshires. His “great deals and great hills” are great picks—and we like his photographs, too, especially the Ode to James Taylor.

On to another member back from a long break: IgoUgo’s newest ski-weekend review comes from New Yorker Rigoulene, who raves about The Vermont Inn in Killington. If you can judge a place by the reviewer’s use of exclamation points, or by the availability of “special” French toast, this lodge is a winner.
