IgoUgo reviews with titles like “Carsickness Attacks!” and “Disappointment” may not normally leave us cheering, but we still feel like celebrating every grueling chapter of stomps’ Three Peaks Challenge endeavor. We last profiled the compassionate traveler and amateur mountaineer over 2 months ago, as she prepared to tackle a marathon climb to benefit the Meningitis Trust.

Well, we’re happy to report that she indeed scaled the tallest mountains in Wales, England, and Scotland in a span of 24 hours, all in honor of a fellow IgoUgoer (or, at least, an IgoUgoer by proxy). Inclement weather, a hip injury, and the aforementioned motion sickness couldn’t stop her from raising a huge amount of money for the Trust. Perhaps the “pebble of support” she carried, engraved with JayBroek’s son’s name, helped her to conquer the ascents. And it couldn’t have hurt that while she was making friends on the mountains (many of whom signed a T-shirt for the toddler), IgoUgo friends were lending their support on the Message Boards.

Reading stomps’ journal entries and JayBroek’s posts, it’s clear that the outcome made the Three Peaks Challenge worth the effort. We think the appreciative father says it best on his personal blog: “There's hope for mankind with the likes of [stomps] amongst us—people like her keep on doing special things for people like us, regardless of whether she knows us or not.”
