All right, chappies. Our brand new contest is up, and we’re chomping at the bit to give one of you lucky readers a trip to the Big Apple. Apart from the obvious enticements -- the glamour! the glitz! the bagels! – we know of a few other attractions to whet your appetite for the city. If you can make it here, well… you know the rest, we think.
- Central Park Conservatory Garden: You're going to Central Park, we get it. But what to do when you get there? Try paying a visit to the quiet formal garden, a “gorgeous oasis” that “not too many people know about,” not even the locals. Extra points for snapping the stately rotunda in the picture.
- Greenwich Village: The capital of Bohemian America is still as bustling as ever, with a wealth of boutiques and bistros to satisfy your inner Wintour. Drop in at a poetry club to sample a night a la Kerouac.
- The Cloisters: Tucked away on the tip of northern Manhattan, the Cloisters are the Met’s collection of medieval artwork and riches. To get there quickly, buy a Metrocard and hop on the M4 bus.
Know something else we forgot? Let us know in the comments.
