This city of 1 million people boasts the largest Souk in Morocco, and one of the busiest market squares in Africa, the Djemma el Fna, where food stalls purvey their wares among snake charmers, trained monkeys and henna artists.

Sightseeing is as easy as opening your eyes in Marrakech, a citied peppered with centuries-old Mosques and palaces like the Medersa Ben Youssef and the Palais de la Bahia are still standing as beautiful testaments to classic Islamic architecture. Traditional and modern Moroccan art sits alongside historical books, coins and pottery in the Musee de Marrakech (Marrakech Museum).
