Whether you're parasailing above the turquoise waters or on a sunset horseback ride with Trikk Pony Adventures, you'll find no shortage of ways to fill up your days in Freeport.
With its clear blue waters and fish-packed spots like Dead Man's Reef, Freeport boasts some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean, and plenty of excellent tour companies to help you find the best spots. The whole family will enjoy an outing with Pat and Diane Fantasia Tours, where the snorkeling comes first, but the boat-mounted water slide and climbing wall come in a close second. Sunn Odyssey Divers is the perfect partner for experienced scuba divers, specializing in small-group dives of wrecks, reefs and shark-infested waters.
You don't need to snorkel or scuba to get close to Freeport's wildlife, however, just take a visit to UNEXSO's Dolphin Encounter. Here, visitors can pet and visit14 trained Atlantic bottle nose dolphins in the outfit's secluded lagoon. The petting zoo at the Garden of the Groves is another alternative, where the whole family can feed and pet pot bellied pigs and pygmy goats, or just wander the jungle-like trails, snapping photos of the iguanas and alligators and peacocks that called the Groves home.
Bargain hunters need not fear – the offerings at the International Bazaar Freeport will make sure you don't go home empty-handed. The diverse offerings at the Bazaar are divided into different shops themed for different areas of the world (hence the name). You can expect to find anything from chintzy souvenirs to some of the highest-quality traditional Bahaman strawwork. Just don't give in too easy here – some of the merchants can be a bit pushy.
