Enjoyed my stay

Quote: Was happy with my recent stay at the Hotel Pennsylvania. Besides the slightly lengthy wait time to check in, I did not encounter any other issues. The hotel was in a central location, which helped when it came to exploring New York. The room was clean and comfortable and I was satisfied with my stay. I think the Hotel Pennsylvania offers some of the best value for your money in New York.

Not Such A Great Deal

Quote: We were kept waiting in line to check in for over a hour--reservation called for 2 queen beds for my wife and I plus our 17 year old son--ended up with a double bed and a rool-a-way. Room was ok but would not stay again even at $* a night.

disgusting and run down

Quote: this place was horrible. the rooms are tiny and dirty. there was definately vomit in our bathtub. there were bleach stains on the carpet in the hallway. the airconditioner was busted and covered in dust. it may be cheap for NYC but i wouldve rather paid an extra $* to stay somewhere halfdecent. on the bright side, no bedbugs found tho we did check this disgusting mattress. no fitted sheets btw.

Perfect for Discount Price

Quote: When I got there, it wasn’t perfectly clean, but who am I to care for such a price? I don’t know what everyone else is complaining about. The room was cleaner than my apartment back home and I got extra towels within minutes of calling for them. I’m not too picky when it comes to amenities or chic lobbies and what not. But one thing I really want in a hotel is a good location. I hate being a foreign city and not being close to wherever I want to go. I came into town for shopping and a few museums and this place did not fail to impress. Within walking distance was Times Square, fifth avenue, Koreatown, the MoMA and an eight-story Macy’s store off the top of my head. I am very confused as to where all these horror stories come from... Read More

I hate being a foreign city and not being close to wherever I want to go. This is why I chose Hotel Pennsylvania and it’s why I liked it. I came into town for shopping and a few museums and this place did not fail to impress. Within walking distance was Times Square, fifth avenue, Koreatown, the MoMA and an eight-story Macy’s store off the top of my head. The New York subway seemed scary to me at first, but when I journeyed downtown to SoHo and Chinatown, Penn Station was right across the street from the hotel and every train led there. To top all that, the room was a decent price and very... Read More

Quote: Hotel was much better than I was expecting after having ready many negative reviews. My room was clean and the hotel was in a great location. Having Penn Station so close made it super easy to get around the city. The price was right and I would definitely come back.

Better Than Sleeping on the Streets
Quote: Three years ago Himself and Yours Truly traveled to the Big Apple to attend an international wrestling meet at the New York Athletic Club. Our youngest nephew was a competitor, and we wanted to join other far-flung family members to cheer him on. We stayed at the Hotel Pennsylvania because our nephew’s athletic club had arranged for a group discount and had extended the option of a special rate to the athletes’ family members. The 22-story Hotel Pennsylvania should have been a great place to stay. It has a perfect location on 7th Avenue at 33rd, across from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Macy’s flagship store is just a stone’s throw away, and most of the attractions of Midtown are within easy walking distance. For those who prefer... Read More
