Some items—berets, scones, Vespas—just look better in Europe. Is vacation one of those things? Judging by the week at IgoUgo, yes.
Continuing the continental shift that began two weeks ago, nearly half of this week’s top 20 destinations are in Europe, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Barcelona, Rome, and Prague. And Europe’s (other) edge beckoned as well, with Sicily appearing as a top spot for site visitors and Santorini gaining the most new journals in June. (Yes, MichaelJM is back from Greece and has been very busy writing.)
Besides sunbathing on the Greek Isles, favorite European activities this week were Lausanne’s Festival de la Cité (which ends its 2008 run tomorrow) and London’s Madame Tussauds.
The only area of the site bucking the trend was this blog, where the most read blog post was about as all-American as it gets: the 10 Favorite Barbecue Joints in the US.
