Indecisive travelers, we have your answer: Palm Desert, California. Outdoor fanatic traveling engineer recently hit the area’s famous parks and trails--and also enjoyed top-notch food, top-shelf shopping, casino hopping, birding, a film festival, and even a date garden. Reading his journal is like experiencing 10 trips rolled into one.
Palm Desert Culture and Adventure is chock-full of ideas for activities in and around the Coachella Valley oasis. Winter is a great time to go, traveling engineer says, to catch the Palm Springs International Film Festival and a “super-secret movie”--though our traveler skipped the showing because (hint, hint) “at least one of us would have exploded if she had been sworn not to discuss the film.”
