The IgoUgo Community has three things to celebrate this week!
AllFacebook.com, the top blog/news resource for all things Facebook, recently announced their “10 Facebook Pages Every Traveler Should Follow,” and IgoUgo made the list. The article says "IgoUgo wants to hear about your travels"--true!-- and that our site’s Facebook Page is “an excellent place to share pictures and stories from your adventures"--also true! This honor will come as no surprise to IgoUgo members, especially because it's your journals, photos, and community that make IgoUgo a travel site worth following. So congratulations and thank you to all.
Just as exciting, the travel tech newsletter Tnooz featured the site's new look and functionality in this article. We’re so glad they agreed that the new look is about “emphasizing personal trip recommendations from people in your networks,” because that was definitely the goal. If we may quote ourselves from the article, “We wanted the site experience to better reflect the fact that IgoUgo is a great community of expert travelers who have been where you want to go and who have great, positive advice for your trip.” Yup, sounds about right.
And, to prove we mean what we say, the Community Tab is back and here to stay! We're really glad to see it again and hope you are, too. (For any newbies out there, welcome!, and the Community Tab was a great feature of the site until it took a short hiatus). IgoUgo wouldn’t be much without our members’ contributions and the community, so we should probably make them easy to get to (duh).
The tab appears--when you are logged in--to the right of your profile navigation tab on every page on the site (between your Go Points tracker and the Log Out button). From its drop down menu, you can navigate to the forums, the blog, “Best of”, a list of most recent submissions, U GO! Awards, and the Member Hall of Fame.
Enjoy our time in the spotlight and easier navigation!
