PS: Next year, if you do go, here's a few tips from members:
Roozie says, in her journal
Oktoberfest Madness, "It's about more than just beer - it's the world's largest carnival, but with people cruising around in lederhosen and cutesy low cut dresses. The food was delicious and no matter where we went, the chicken was to die for."
Fish388 says, in his journal Our Second Trip to München, "On the weekend we tried to get a seat inside a tent but were unable; Monday during the day it was easy to get a seat inside. Try to leave before closing time if you want to avoid the largest crowding."
Rambling Rose says, in her journal Octoberfest, "I had envisioned beer gardens and tents and accordion polka music and what I found was a full-fledged carnival with roller coasters, massive permanent beer halls, and bands dressed in Bavarian costume playing rock tunes. For the full experience make a reservation at a beer tent!"
