Sometimes all you need when visiting a new city is to lie down for a while and sleep off the transatlantic jetlag. Other times -- the next morning, say -- all you want is to check out all the attractions. For every mood in between, a stroll through unfamiliar streets will often do the trick, as two of our photographers demonstrated for us on their recent trips to Europe. Our Photos of the Week are diamonds found in the alley.
The Montmartre in Paris is known for a lot of things, like the Moulin Rouge and the homes of Picasso and Degas. Member JEFF NUNES also knew it was beautiful, which is why he captured this intersection above the Place Blanche Metro. We’re still wondering about the wreath at the top of the frame.
