If you travel a lot, you’ve probably seen your share of majestic buildings. Tourists with cameras have an irresistible attraction to palaces and stately cathedrals. But what about everyday places? How many travelers take pictures of the restaurants and shops in the town square? For two of our members, the humbler side of life was a canvas for winning snapshots. Our Photos of the Week are a little slice of the ordinary.
Traveling in Slovenia, fizzytom found a two-story building that housed a pension and a restaurant. She snapped a picture of the outdoor café, framing it around the sunlight on the nearby table . If that isn’t quaint, we don’t know what is.

Hong Kong has always been a hotbed for transcontinental influences. When lamtrc visited the YMCA, he snapped a shot of an old train station that could just as easily be found in the Canary Islands. Kudos to you, lamtrc -- those palm trees are making us wistful.
