The dog days are upon us, dear readers, and that means our long days of lounging are gradually coming to an end. You're not likely to miss the weeks of triple-digit temperatures, nor the endless lines at poolside concession stands. You might, however, feel nostalgic for the staples of the season. As the summer winds down, we invite you to look back on our favorites for a lazy day.
- Gazpacho -- The jewel of Andalucia, this classic Iberian soup is a staple for vegetarians. We doubt you'll resist its pleasure after taking a gander at this.
- Corn Dogs -- Few things mean “American summer” quite like a beer-battered corn dog. If you're looking for a bit of spice, try adding a zigzag of mustard.
- Caesar Salad -- The culinary treasure of Vegas, the original Caesar salad is a goldmine of tangy ingredients. Toss in a raw egg for a taste of the original recipe.
