Summer is the best time for beaches, concerts, and traveling. Lucky for us (and them) members
vampirefan made the most of a recent summer weekend and combined all three of our favorite summer things in
Suzie and Nick's Rock and Roll Beach Weekend. "When our friends in the Motley Crue/Poison tribute band called us to
tell us they were playing at the House of the Blues and invited us to
come and see them, we decided to go down and make a weekend of it"
Their trip to
Myrtle Beach included the venue in which their friends were playing,
The House of Blues. "
The House
of the Blues has been around since the original venue in Cambridge MA in
1992. It was inspired by the music and cuisine of the rural south.
Today there are 13 House of the Blues throughout the country. The House
of the Blues is both a concert venue as well as a restaurant on the
premises. There is also a House of the Blues Foundation which helps keep
music and the arts in the school system"
Nick and Suzie also dove into Ripley's Aquarium. "The aquarium is one of the most visited sites in South Carolina. More
than 10,000 creatures from all over the world and 350 species called
this place home. he Living Gallery is a collection of amazing sea creatures including
some very strange, unusual, yet beautiful creatures. Marvel at octopi,
sea anemones, coral reefs, the delicate weedy sea dragon, and spider
crabs.
"
And when traveling to Myrtle Beach "...from spring until Labor Day, advanced reservations are
highly suggested. During the summer holidays, you pretty much better
have reservations made months in advanced. Have a smart phone? Then Myrtle Beach has an app for you. And it’s free!"
