MGM Grand

Hotel | "MGM Grand Hotel and Casino"

Quote: The MGM Grand is huge, HUGE. From the moment we got out of our cab, we were treated as if we were the only ones there. The bell boy got our bags immediately, and everyone had a smile and was very friendly. Our room was standard but large, with a huge window with a view of the Strip, mostly of the New York New York skyline and the roller coaster. The bathroom was large and all marble. The maid who kept up our room did an excellent job, and every day when we came back in, all our toiletries were arranged very neatly. All the staff was friendly, a good thing, since just finding the elevators to get to our room was a challenge.

I would definitely stay here again. You would never have to leave this place. There are tons of restaurants, the casino, and nightclubs. It's like its own city. It was amazing.

MGM Grand Buffet

Restaurant | "MGM Grand Dinner Buffet"

Quote: This was a very large buffet. Everything we ate tasted wonderful. The crab legs were already cracked in half for you. The dessert bar was huge. Out of the two buffets that I have now been to, including this one, I would have to say that the other one, see the Bellagio Buffet entry, beats it hands-down, though. This is still a very good buffet, and not as costly as the Bellagio.

The Rainforest Cafe

Quote: If you have never eaten at a Rainforest Cafe, you do not know what you are missing. Go to one--any one. They are all over the place, and they are all pretty much the same. It is not just dining; it is a dining experience, and kids absolutely love it. The whole restaurant is decorated as though you are eating in, well, a rainforest. Trees, fake animals everywhere, waterfalls, the ceiling dripping in vines, it is dark lit with subtle lighting and candles. And then, every so many minutes--I forget how many--a thunderstorm comes. Complete with lightning and thunder, it is great. But all this is no good if the food sucks. No fear. It does not. The food is really good, and the desserts are very, very good. While you are there, check out the bar stools!

Quote: The Planet Hollywood is along the same lines as your Hard Rock Cafe, except, instead of a tock music collection, you guessed it, they have a collection of Hollywood memorabilia. It is fun not only to eat here, but to go around and view what they have on display from certain movies and TV shows. They have quite an amazing collection, and the food is good, too.

Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand

Attraction | "The MGM Grand Lion Habitat"

Quote: I thought that this was really neat, and it is a free attraction. It has a small hallway with a see-through tube on the top of it that the lions walk over, lie on, whatever. Let's just say that I have never, ever had that view of a lion before. Very interesting!!! No, really, it is a good view, and they are the direct descendents of the actual lions that roared at the beginning of the MGM movies. It's very cool for MGM to have them where you can see them.

Venetian Guggenheim Hermitage Museum

Attraction | "Guggenheim Hermitage Museum at the Venetian"

Quote: This was my first time in an actual art museum, and it was fascinating. The works of art were beautiful, and we got to see some amazing pieces. Among them were works by Renoir and Picasso. When you went in, you got little tape players with earphones, and as you walked through the museum, it told you the history of the painting you were looking at.

Quote: This was the first Cirque du Soleil show that I have ever seen, and now I cannot wait to see another one. Oh my God!!! This was great. I was amazed from start to finish. I have never seen anything like this, not even close to this. I cannot believe the human body can even do things like that. What an amazing group of talented people. The music is live as well, composed on a stage-like area above the main stage. The comedy, acrobatics, music, and dancing were just amazing.

TIP: Sit in the middle to the back of the theatre. Don't sit in the front. If you sit in the front, you will miss some of the show that is going on above the audience. Go and see this no matter what the cost. It is worth it. I was with a friend when I saw it, and I cannot wait to take my husband to see it. Words cannot describe it.

We saw the show Mystere at Treasure Island, and it was absolutely amazing. My husband and I are going this month to Vegas. I can't wait to get there again.
