Punta Cana boasts some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, and no spot is more coveted than the fine sands of Playa Bavaro. This resort-lined beach features powdery soft white sand, calm turquoise waters and plenty of activities, from kayaking and canoeing to fishing and windsurfing.

Those looking to get a good feel for the area should check out one of the Bavaro Runners Tour or the Bavaro Runners Safari Tours. These day-long (sometimes more) tours will take you past unspoiled coastline, through lush mountain roads where you’ll visit working sugar cane plantations, meet local villagers, and more.

If you’re looking for an action-packed afternoon, try one of Punta Cana’s many dune-buggy and ATV tours. Outfits like Xtreme-Buggy and ATV Excursion will let you pilot your own vehicle, as you follow a tour leader over sand and through the forests. And if you want out on the water, ocean tours with groups like Aquatours and Tropical Storm Bavaro Cruises will speed you along the coastlines to prime snorkeling territory.
