Quote: I came to Minneapolis for a overnight stay. The Normandy was wonderful. The staff helped me with accurate directions around the area.

Quote: The hotel is close enough to the Metrodome (attended Twins game) but the phones were blocked so we couldnt call the restaurant for room service- and guests and security were pounding on the door next door at 2Am yelling loudly at the occupants. Next time I will spend a little more and stay at a better hotel- maybe the riff raff will not go to the spendier hotel

Great place to stay!

Quote: The Best Western Normandy was a great place to stay in Downtown Minneapolis. It was SO easy to get to from 35W North, and getting back on 35W South to get home was just as easy. 35W basically ends at the Best Western's (back) doorstep! The staff was friendly and efficient, the hotel was quiet, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice, but a little chilly in January. The kids didn't seem to mind. The milk and cookies at 10:00 p.m. were a nice touch, although we had to ask at the front desk to find them. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the Metrodome - even in cold weather. It is a very convenient location if you're going to an event at the Metrodome. You can save a lot of traffic and parking... Read More

Good value

Quote: Overall, the hotel was nice. However, it is not linked to the skyway which would have been nice. Dining at the Landmarc Inn was a little pricey. Food was average/bar food. There was a constant knocking/clanking noise in the wall. Very annoying. When mentioned to front desk they did nothing to help. We had a suite and it was very large and nice. Bathroom was exceptional. Bed was above average but nothing special. Sheets were a little hard.

Management has no clue

Quote: Stayed here on New Year's Eve. Upon checking in we were given a "letter from the owner". You would think that it would be something welcoming the guest to the hotel, but no, it was a list of reasons for which they would kick you out of the hotel. When arriving back at the hotel after midnight we found a line at the door waiting to get in. The manager was blocking the door and checking each person to make sure that they were registered guests at the hotel. I can see wanting to be safe on a busy night, but don't make your guests feel like criminals. If a few guests are abusing their stay, then deal with them, but don't make all of your guests feel like 5 year olds just because of something that a few people may or may not... Read More

a good experience

Quote: The room was large and very clean. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The check-in staff were condescending in their attitude and acted like they were doing us a favor by checking us in.

I would go else where

Quote: This hotel smelled musty, & was dark & dreary. We stayed here to be close to downtown & the U of M. We were in town a weekend that the Twins played, & as a result, prices were inflated. Had I spent $40.00 less, (what rooms are now, 12-06) I probably wouldn't feel as negatively as I do. I would stay farther from downtown, rather that stay here again.
