But if you're going to bank on a tour, and for the novice, it always feels like a crap shoot with the odds stacked against you, I humbly submit that you "gamble" with these guys. So far we've done Shannon's tour, Jeremiah's and this guy named Chris who is a partner or something. They're all very different but top shelf storytellers. Makes me want to quit my job and run off an become a ghost tour guide.

Quote: This tour was great, and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. We were told to meet our grout (at the cemetery!) at 11pm. Our guide met us, and was very "into character" and made us all laugh--and a few of us scream! There were many interesting stories (I don't want to spoil any of it, so I'm trying not to go into detail), and a lot of local history also.

One piece of advice: if you are bringing a stroller, make sure it is good with rugged terrain, as the little umbrella strollers are hard to maneuver on the streets there. This was a great way to spend an hour, and great way to learn something new about the area. I will be taking all my visitors to this tour when we are in Savannah again!

Quote: THE one thing you have to do in Savannah is a ghost tour, of course! It's such a historical city and full of color. While I was there, I took a carriage ghost tour. It was really cool and mad scary.The guide will take you around and tell you various spooky stories as he or she also drives the horses. Our carriage was pulled by a couple of loving horses called Batman and Robin. They were so good, they knew where they were going without even being told! Certain things around the city made it so obvious that the locals have always truly believed. For one, the house next door to one extremely haunted house had up a brick wall with pointed shards of glass on top to keep out the ghosts from their own home. The guide even told us a creepy story about our own hotel being built over an Indian burial ground. That means no sleep for a bunch of 16-year-old girls… thank goodness it was the last night!For the amount of fun these tours are, they're pretty cheap, usually between $10-15. I won't spoil any more of the stories, so you'll have to go see it for yourself!

Quote: We took a ghost walk tour with "The Ghosts of Savannah" Tour Company. The tour guide did an excellent job for a cold, rainy night. Unfortunately, no ghosts were encountered (that we know of). This is an eight-block walking tour, which does not include the cemetery. Be sure and take a jacket, as it can be chilly and possibly rainy. Also, calling ahead for reservations is required. When you make the reservation, make sure you show up. If you don’t, they will charge your credit card regardless.
