Cinco de Mayo is approaching, and whether or not you believe in going hog wild -- crowding your table with beers and margaritas aplenty -- it’s an excellent time to start planning a trip to Mexico. If you’re from the USA, you might want to consider beginning your tour in Cancun, the city with a lifetime spot in the Spring Break Hall of Fame. For a taste of the revolutionary fervor, slice up a lime and read on with IgoUgo.

  • Isla Mujeres: A fifteen minute ferry ride from the city, this little island is “a world away from its louder and brasher mainland neighbor,” says UK native dkm1981. Other members endorse the island as “one of two places to go in Cancun” and “a great party.”
  • Coco Bongo: Perhaps the best place to party in one of the party capitals of the world, Coc Bongo is “a nonstop incredible display of how a club should be,” says djinmypalmyfriend. Keep dancing till one a.m. for a taste of Mexican trance music.
  • Interactive Aquarium: If swimming with dolphins isn’t enough to convince you -- and if it isn’t, really? --then maybe you’ll enjoy lining up to feed the sharks. Our members were amused to see it’s quite a popular activity.
