MGM Grand Buffet

We have eaten before at the Grand Buffet and wanted to try it again. We decided to eat there on our last night in Vegas. It was a little expensive at $24.99 per person, so you want to eat a lot to feel that you got your money’s worth!
They have a great variety of foods and a nice selection of salads. The best part is that they have prime rib, cold or steamed crab legs, mussels, and cold or hot shrimp. Also, we saw sushi. There was a great hot section, too, but the desserts were the best!
Overall, we enjoyed our meal, even though we had to loosen the belt notches a bit!

Although the buffet was not overrun with choices, the food was amazingly fresh. The meats fell off their bones; we are talking tender here, people. The seafood was also fresh (there was hot and cold options) with the option of crab legs and the food just keeps coming. Yes, there are the usual options like rice, potatoes, salads, and desserts, but we are talking about freshness and tastiness here folks. This place, for a dinner under $40, is worth it.

This was our least favorite buffet of our trip, not to say it wasn't good, but it wasn't as good as some of the others. They had an excellent SALAD bar and a LOT of seafood. My boyfriend actually made a meal of salad and king crab legs. Other than seafood though, the choices were very slim compared to other buffets we ate at.

The price is $20 an adult and worth every cent. We went for dinner, which opens at 4:30pm. We arrived at 4:30pm and waited in line about 35 minutes. The food selection was outstanding (Spanish, Italian, American, to name a few). All the dishes we tried were very good to excellent. I was especially impressed with the variety of meats (prime rib, roasted pork, steak, chicken, turkey, and lamb chops).
Then of course the seafood (crab legs) for my husband. There's also TONS of desserts. The only complaint would be that the plates are located in one area by the salad bar, thus, we had to back track to get a new plate before heading to our next desired food.

This buffet was by far the best one around! Shrimp was peeled and offered many varieties of fish and meats. Presentation was beautiful and staff was excellent! A little more in the cost of a buffet comparative to other hotels, but well worth it.

MGM's Grand Buffet is really not that grand, after all. While it looks enormous, I found that a lot of the items on the buffet repeated as you went from aisle to aisle.
Food was average, as was the service. It was typical buffet far--roast beef, Jello, cakes, mayonnaise-y pasta/potato salads, fried chicken, etc.
We were there for lunch, so it may vary from dinner, but I doubt by much.
Well-placed slot machines near the buffet rang with winning pulls and made the customers itch to get out onto the casino floor.
If you're going to do a buffet while you're in Vegas, pass on this one and find another.

In striking contrast to the Aladdin's Spice Market Buffet, the MGM Grand Buffet is old and tired. The food is basic and uninspired and the selection is that of your typical buffet. Nothing to write home about. The Spice Market Buffet, Bellagio Buffet, and Paris Buffet are far superior to this mediocre offering.

We ate here several times, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every meal we had was delicious.
There was such a large selection of food to choose from including Chinese, seafood, and anything in between.
There always seemed to be a long line to get in, no matter what time of the day we went. But the line moved quickly and we never waited for longer than ten minutes.
