Quote: We booked a table Georges (19 rue Beaubourg, 75004 Paris) for the evening of my 50th birthday on Saturday 9 June 2025 based on the recommendation of the Paris Digest Website. We were on holidays in Spain, Portugal, and France for 5 weeks from Australia and a London based friend had joined us in Paris for my birthday. My partner (who speaks fluent French) made the booking by telephone (in my earshot) on the prior Wednesday stating explicitly that the booking was for 3 people and requesting a table with against the window. He even asked for the booking to be read back for confirmation. When we arrived at the restaurant we were taken to a table in a type of 'igloo' with no view to speak of. We, of course, protested that this was not the table... Read More
Quote: I was together with my fiancé visiting Paris... we were looking for a nice place for dinner and her relatives in Paris recommended to us this place. So we went there as a party of 6 people.First of all: Georges is located very centrally, nearby Notre Dame in the 4th district. We had dinner around 9 pm, so you couldn't go through Centre Pompidou but had to take an extra escalator.First of all: The view from the restaurant is breathtaking. You could overlook all of Paris, had a wonderful view on Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower (which still was heavily illuminated from New Years Eve). There is also a terrace which you probably can use in spring and summer (it was closed during our stay). The place itself is very modern and stylish. A lot of... Read More
Quote: Looking forward to a fun experience at a restaurant I've heard good things about, I made a 9:30pm reservation. When I got there we were asked to wait at the bar. The service at the bar was really poor. The guy at the bar sort of flew away after eventually taking our order and a women who was stocking the bar asked us what our order was. She was obviously embarrassed. This by the way was the last time anyone in the bar offered us any sort of service, refill, etc.An hour went by without a word from the hostess - a group of young attractive girls who seemed to be more preoccupied with their appearance than providing service to their guests. We eventually were offered a table with no explanation as to why we had to wait, or rather three... Read More

Quote: When a friend and I visited Paris, the friend we were staying with recommended this place, and it was fabulous! If you want to visit one of the trendiest restaurants in Paris, this is the one! Located on the top floor of the Centre Pompidou, if you take the escalators to go up you will see even more amazing views of the city and Eiffel Tower. When you enter, you pass an outdoor terrace and reflecting pool, and the decor inside is full of steel and aluminum exposed piping, but it gives it a really cool feeling. The chairs are all white leather and quite striking, and the lighting (from below the table) is subtle and intimate. The food they serve is Asian-inspired. We ordered exotic cocktails, and there was DJ music playing in the... Read More

Quote: after viewing a rather wrenching exhibit of late 20th century modern performance art type something or other, my friend and i decided to move down the exposition hall and check out this restaurant everybody had been talking about. it's the most recent endeavor of the costes family (as in, i believe, la coste) who are known for excellent restaurants in paris. this latest effort is an impressive amalgam of modern artistic flourishes, primary colors, shapes, metals, single long-stemmed red roses and gorgeous food. the people who are there to see and be seen are not so shabby either. we went there for lunch, so the clientele was not quite as ultra-hip as the dinner crowd is certain to be (in fact, we sat next to a family with two small...
